82 billion soums returned to low-income families

Since the beginning of the year, more than 275,000 low-income citizens in Uzbekistan have received a total of 81.8 billion soums as social cashback. This was reported by the State Tax Committee.

Since May 2023, the VAT refund program has been implemented. Citizens included in the Unified Register of Social Protection receive a refund of 12% value-added tax instead of the usual 1% cashback when purchasing certain goods.

The largest amount refunded was recorded in the Samarkand region — 22.9 billion soums. In second place is Tashkent city — 16.2 billion soums, and in third place is Tashkent region with a refunded amount of 7 billion soums.
