The stage of the Asian Track Cycling Cup is in full swing in the Indian city of Chennai. The very first day of the competition was very productive for the Uzbekistan national team - our compatriots won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal each.
The most joyous news is the gold medal. In the elimination event, Nafosat Koziyeva outperformed all her opponents and closed the first day on a high note. In track, elimination is a combination of patience, speed, and correct decisions. It was in these aspects that Nafosat was able to speak her mind.
Another hero of the day is Samira Ismailova. She took the podium twice a day:
- Silver in the individual pursuit race,
- and a bronze medal in the elimination.
This result demonstrates not only a strong start but also the team's overall preparedness and morale. Because starting the first day with a medal increases confidence in subsequent performances, and gives a signal to the opponents: "Uzbekistan didn't come here for a walk."
