In Uzbekistan, it is planned to increase the share of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products in the construction materials sector to 25% next year, and to 35% by 2030. This was announced during a presentation reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Additionally, 112 projects with a total value of $2.4 billion are planned to be implemented, creating 13,500 new jobs. It is projected that the project portfolio will eventually reach $3.5 billion.
Moreover, five major projects worth $110 million will hold strategic importance. In 2024, 40 projects totaling $515 million focusing on deep processing of kaolin are planned, alongside the training of 460 specialists in this area.
The presentation also discussed export potential. It was reported that the demand for construction materials in neighboring countries exceeds $4 billion.
Uzbekistan can expand the supply of nine types of products to 26 countries. The president emphasized the importance of scientific research.
Starting next year, 30 billion soums will be allocated for scientific projects in the construction materials sector. This sector is being aligned with World Trade Organization (WTO) requirements: while 125 international standards have been introduced so far, this figure is expected to reach 166 by 2026.
