By the end of the year, the largest production facilities for non-woven materials such as spanbond and meltblown in Central Asia will be launched in the Sirdarya region. These products will be manufactured by Invest Asia, a company that recently received a visit from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Invest Asia meets 60 percent of the domestic market's demand for polypropylene bags and lightweight containers, as well as 40 percent of stretch film production. The complex spans an area of 60 hectares and employs nearly 2,500 people.
The enterprise is the only facility in the country manufacturing biaxially oriented polypropylene film. In the past ten months of this year, the company produced goods worth 1.9 trillion soums, with exports amounting to $23 million.
The equipment is sourced from Austria, Germany, Italy, China, and the United States. Once all the projects are operational, the number of jobs at Invest Asia is expected to increase to 10,000, and the volume of processed polymers is forecasted to rise to 280,000 tons per year.
