Uzbekneftegaz tasked with raising daily gas output to 70 million cubic meters

Uzbekneftegaz has been instructed to increase daily gas production from 66 million cubic meters to 70 million cubic meters, and to ensure output of at least 25.4 billion cubic meters of gas by the end of 2026.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the company’s upcoming plans and priority tasks. He emphasized the need to accelerate geological exploration to expand gas reserves, form new investment blocks, and speed up work in areas already allocated to investors.
The meeting also separately reviewed naphtha processing. It was noted that current capacities are utilized only at 70%, while products are being sold abroad at prices twice lower than possible. Given that converting naphtha into polymer products increases added value sixfold, the task was set to fully utilize existing capacities.
In addition, a deputy chair position for anti-corruption was introduced within Uzbekneftegaz, and a compliance and internal control service was established.
