Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger posted on social media, reacting to Xabi Alonso stepping down as the team’s head coach. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
The German footballer thanked the coach: “Thank you for everything, Xabi Alonso. It was a pleasure working with you. I wish you the best for the future!” he wrote.
In the 2025/2026 season, the 32-year-old Rudiger made 9 appearances for Real Madrid but did not register a goal or an assist. It is noted that the defender’s contract with the Madrid club runs until the end of the current season.
Alvaro Arbeloa has been appointed as Real Madrid’s new head coach. The team will face Albacete on January 14 in the Copa del Rey round of 16.
