We often try to create a perfect image of ourselves, without flaws, without mistakes. However, each of us has dark sides, hidden fears, doubts and unresolved problems. We try to run away from them, forget them or pretend to forget them. In fact, it is these "shadows" that hide who we really are.
Imagine that you are sitting in a room. One side of the room is light, the other side is dark. You always strive for light and run away from darkness. But you do not know what lies in the darkness, maybe there is a treasure there? Maybe the thing you are looking for is in that very darkness?
In the same way, our fears, doubts, and unresolved issues can be hidden behind the closed doors of a dark room. The more we avoid them, the more they have a hold on us.
For example, let's say there is a person (like me) who is afraid of speaking in public or in public. He always tries to hide this fear, to avoid it. However, this fear limits his life, depriving him of new opportunities. If he recognizes this fear, understands its causes, and works with it, he can reveal his full potential.
Let's say another example: there is a person who hides his anger. He is afraid to show his anger and constantly swallows it. This negatively affects his health and relationships with others. By recognizing his anger and learning to express it in a healthy way, he can solve this problem.
There are people who are unable to express their sympathy, affection and love for someone in the same way (especially due to the "SHAME" syndrome in societies like ours or the roles that society has assigned to morality). They are afraid to admit their feelings for someone for various conscious and unconscious reasons. In fact, if they first admitted it to themselves and knew the reason why it happened, they would be so much freer to control themselves.
Accepting our "shadow" sides is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. This helps us to fully understand and accept ourselves, to achieve harmony with our inner self. Only a person who fully accepts himself can live a happy, full-fledged quality life and be successful.
