During an operational operation conducted by employees of the Tashkent Regional Department of the State Security Service, a lawyer working in a law firm was detained with material evidence that raises suspicion of a crime.
It turned out that he promised to change the 2-year prison sentence imposed on a local citizen through judicial authorities to a sentence of restriction of liberty, using his contacts in the judicial system. For this service, 10 thousand US dollars were received.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the lawyer in this case and an investigation is being actively conducted. At the same time, the SBS reminded the public that if they encounter such violations, they can contact the hotline 1520. The personal information of the applicant is guaranteed to be kept confidential.
This incident has once again shown the need to pay attention to the transparency of the law and justice system in the country and to bring the law breakers to justice.
