Public toilets in Uzbekistan reportedly fail to meet standards

There are nearly 11,000 public toilets in Uzbekistan at gas stations, parks, and tourist sites. According to Tourism Committee Chairman Abdulaziz Akkulov, about 4,000 of them have been newly built in recent years.

Nevertheless, the sanitary conditions in some places still do not meet requirements. Especially in areas frequently visited by tourists, cleanliness and convenience remain significant issues.

Akkulov noted that toilets are often not seen as a primary source of income, which is why they do not receive sufficient attention. Therefore, the need for regular monitoring and improving service quality at these facilities was emphasized.
