Major opium smuggling channel exposed in Tashkent Region operation

Law enforcement agencies in the Tashkent Region have dealt another severe blow to drug trafficking. A special operation conducted by the State Security Service and the Customs Committee successfully halted the illegal circulation of a large quantity of narcotics.

It is reported that two suspects, who had been under surveillance by law enforcement, were apprehended in the Buka District. It is noted that their movements were closely monitored during the pre-investigation process.

It was determined that these individuals, aged 24 and 25 and residing in Samarkand, were found in possession of a total of 5 kilograms and 160 grams of opium. Experts believe this amount of narcotics holds a very high value on the black market.

According to preliminary information, the lethal substance was smuggled into the country from a neighboring state. Law enforcement agencies are currently working to identify other members of this criminal network and the supply chain.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects apprehended during the operation, and they have been placed in custody. Comprehensive investigative actions regarding the incident are currently underway.

Experts emphasize that such operations against the illegal drug trade are of vital importance in ensuring public safety and protecting youth from harmful vices.
