Market activity was temporarily suspended after a major fire in Beshkurgan

Following a major fire at the Beshkurgan market, the market's operations were temporarily suspended. The incident reportedly occurred in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, after the fire, all facilities in the area were immediately inspected. In particular, compliance with fire safety requirements at the gas station and shopping complex located near the market was studied.
During the inspection, serious shortcomings were discovered. In particular, it became known that the building, located very close to the fuel storage tanks, is being used as a storage facility. It is noted that this violates safety regulations.
It was also noted that the automatic fire extinguishing system installed in the shopping complex is faulty. In addition, a number of other fire safety requirements were grossly violated.
Officials emphasized that the activities of the market and adjacent facilities will be temporarily suspended until all identified shortcomings are fully eliminated.
In this regard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations appealed to entrepreneurs:
"Dear entrepreneurs! Strictly observe fire safety regulations. Follow the recommendations given by specialists. Ignoring safety requirements can lead to serious consequences and major tragedies," the report said.
Currently, responsible agencies are taking measures to restore safety requirements and prevent such situations.
