
On November 9, 2025, at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the successful performances of Uzbekistan's judokas continued. Uzbek athletes won gold, silver, and bronze medals, completing the full set of awards.
In the women’s -70 kg weight category, Khurshida Razzokberdiyeva defeated opponents from Turkey and Morocco to reach the final. In the decisive match, she faced Azerbaijani competitor Sudaba Agayeva.
Despite a strong start to the match and several successful attacks, Razzokberdiyeva missed her chance against her opponent and secured the silver medal of the tournament. The true star of the competition day was Shakhzodkhoja Sharipov in the -90 kg weight category, who won the final match brilliantly against his Bahraini opponent.
His decisive ippon technique earned him the gold medal and the top spot on the podium. This was Sharipov's second major victory in international competitions of the year.
In the -78 kg weight category, Marjona Kuchimova claimed a bronze medal. In the match for third place, she confidently defeated her Azerbaijani opponent, demonstrating precise tactics and resilience.
Another silver medal for Uzbekistan was secured by Iriskhon Qurbonboyeva. Despite losing in the final match of the +78 kg weight category, she delivered one of the most consistent performances on the team.
Experienced judoka Alisher Yusupov won a bronze medal in the +100 kg weight category by defeating his Kyrgyz opponent. In the final of the same weight category, Muzaffarbek Turaboyev convincingly defeated his Tajik rival with an ippon technique, adding another gold medal to Uzbekistan's tally.
