
On 30 December, a telephone conversation took place between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations and the international situation.
At the start of the conversation, the Uzbek leader strongly condemned the attempted attack on the Russian President’s residence located in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was emphasized that such actions could undermine stability and security and pose a serious threat to efforts aimed at achieving long-term peace.
With a view to implementing the agreements reached at the highest level, the parties separately discussed further deepening the strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia. They noted the importance of taking mutual cooperation to a new stage.
The leaders also exchanged views on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda, including plans for upcoming joint events.
At the end of the call, the two leaders warmly congratulated each other on the approaching year 2026, wishing good health, happiness and prosperity. They also conveyed wishes of peace, stability and sustainable development to the brotherly peoples of Uzbekistan and Russia.
