On December 13, the Freedom Chess 2025 tournament was organized in partnership between Freedom Broker Uzbekistan and the Chess Federation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event brought together investors, financial professionals, and young chess players.
While inaugurating the tournament, Ernest Edgar, the regional director of Freedom Broker, emphasized the symbolic significance of the event for the investment community. According to him, the logic of a chess game reflects the fundamental principles of financial market operations.
In the investment environment, relying purely on luck is not sufficient for success — discipline, calculation, and strategy play a crucial role. Much like a chess player, an investor analyzes their position, evaluates resources, allocates tools, and seeks the best combinations.
It is necessary not only to consider the current move but also its long-term consequences. All matches in the tournament were held under the Swiss system and supervised by referees from the Uzbekistan Chess Federation.
The competition was divided into two categories: adults (12 years and older) and children (under 12 years old). During the event, the children's matches garnered the most attention.
The young chess players showcased not only sharp intellect but also genuine emotions — a vivid display of the joy of victory and enthusiasm for the game.
Timur Turlov, founder and CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., highlighted the growing interest in chess among youth: "Every year, more and more children start playing chess at an early age, and we are witnessing a real boom in interest in chess among young people. Today, hundreds of young champions see chess not merely as a hobby but as a unique way of thinking — an essential part of their lives."
After seven rounds, winners were determined in each category. In the children's category, Anvar Khojamberdiev claimed first place. Second and third places went to Sadiamir Sobirov and Umarchon Ahmadjonov, respectively.

In the adult category, first place was awarded to Kairat Sarapov, second place to Adjam Azamov, and third place to Isomjon Islomov.
