Fujayra Open-2026: Taekwondo athletes won 5 medals on the first day

Today, the city of Fujayra in the United Arab Emirates once again attracted the attention of sports fans. Yesterday, the senior competitions of the prestigious 13th Fujayra Open-2026 Taekwondo WT international tournament officially kicked off.
The first day of the competition was very productive for the Uzbekistan national team: our compatriots won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, and in total, they finished with 5 medals. In short, the saying "first day - warming up" doesn't work for us: children show results immediately.
Silver medalists
- Sofia Khan (53 kg)
- Madina Mirabzalova (57 kg)
Bronze medalists
- Laylo Zayniddinova (53 kg)
- Sevinch Khaitova (62 kg)
- Iroda Mirtojieva (+73 kg)
These results were reported by the Taekwondo WT Association of Uzbekistan.
Now the most interesting part is ahead: the tournament has just begun, so the medals are in line. If there were so many trophies on the first day, in the following days the opponents will be more cautious than us - but this is usually a better motivation for Uzbeks.
