UzHydromet issued a warning for January 31 and February 1–3

UzHydromet reported that on January 31 and February 1–3, due to the expected precipitation across the republic and sharp changes in air temperature, there is a risk of snow avalanches in mountainous areas.
According to the warning, it is especially necessary to strengthen precautionary measures when traveling on foothill and mountain roads. Because in such weather conditions, roads may be slippery, visibility may decrease, and the danger may increase in some places.
The areas where the risk of snow avalanches has been announced are as follows:
- Kashkadarya region: Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, Shahrisabz districts.
- Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts.
- Samarkand region: Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarkand, Urgut districts.
- Jizzakh region: Baxmal, Zomin districts.
- Tashkent region: Bo‘stonliq, Parkent, Ohangaron districts (the mountains of the Chatkal range).
- Namangan region: Pop district.
Specialists are asking residents living in mountainous areas, those who set out on the road for отдых, and especially drivers passing through mountain roads, to remain vigilant. If there is no necessity, it is recommended to postpone travel on routes with a high risk, and when setting out, to keep distance, not increase speed, and follow official warnings.
