In the headline match of Matchweek 18 in the English Premier League, London’s Chelsea lost 1–2 to Aston Villa. Unai Emery’s side increased the pressure after the break and completed a comeback thanks to an Ollie Watkins brace. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
At Stamford Bridge, the hosts started confidently and kept control of the initiative. Chelsea’s dominance turned into a goal after a corner, scored by Joao Pedro. Although the first half was fully under the London side’s control, the margin remained minimal.
After the interval, the picture changed dramatically: Aston Villa raised the tempo and began creating dangerous chances more frequently in front of Robert Sanchez’s goal. The outcome was largely decided around the hour mark, as Emery’s substitutions further intensified the visitors’ pressing.
First, Watkins latched onto Morgan Rogers’ pass to make it 1–1. Soon after, the striker struck again: following a corner delivered by Youri Tielemans, he powered in an accurate header to complete his brace. That goal sealed the win for Aston Villa.
Late on, Chelsea stepped up the pressure in search of an equaliser, but Emiliano Martinez was solid on his goal line. Aston Villa finished with a victory, once again proving their consistency in the fight for the top places.
