On Saturday, Aston Villa came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1. Unai Emery’s side claimed their eighth straight Premier League win and moved closer to the title fight, but the Spanish coach is still in no rush to talk about a final triumph. This was reported by euro-football.ru.reports.
In his post-match interview, when asked about the title race, Emery stressed that it is still too early to state such a goal openly. “A title challenge? I don’t think so, but we’re competing well right now. There are 20 rounds still to play. There are very strong teams like Chelsea and Liverpool, and more is expected from them than from us,” he said.
Aston Villa are currently third in the table with 39 points. The club trails Manchester City (40) and Arsenal (42), while Liverpool and Chelsea in the next places have collected 32 and 29 points respectively.
