Maresca comments on Chelsea’s home defeat to Aston Villa

In the Premier League’s 18th-round match, Chelsea lost at home to Aston Villa 1–2. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.

The London side took the lead in the 37th minute through a goal by Joao Pedro, but for the visitors Ollie Watkins scored in the 63rd and 84th minutes to complete the comeback.

“I think we controlled the game for an hour until we conceded. We played very well. Unfortunately, after Aston Villa’s first goal the tempo of the game changed. By that point we should have scored two or three more. Their substitutions had an impact, but we still had to score more before the 60th minute,” said Blues head coach Enzo Maresca in an interview with Match of the Day.

After this result, Chelsea remain fifth in the Premier League table with 29 points, while Aston Villa are third with 39 points.
