In Matchweek 19 of the English Premier League, Burnley lost 1–3 to Newcastle United at Turf Moor. The game was played at a high tempo from the start, with the biggest tension coming in the closing minutes. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
The visitors opened the scoring very early: in the 2nd minute, Joelinton finished a quick move after a pass from Anthony Gordon. Soon after, in the 7th minute, the lead grew — Wissa Yoan was first to the rebound and fired accurately into the net.
Burnley responded in the 23rd minute: Lorent Josh struck a volley from a lofted ball into the goal, and after a VAR check the goal stood. Before the break, the hosts increased the pressure but did not manage to equalize.
In the second half, Burnley had more possession and mainly looked for chances down the wings, while Newcastle managed the game pragmatically and relied on counterattacks. In the 93rd minute, Bruno Guimarães chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to put the final seal on the match.
