The visitors opted for a pragmatic, cautious approach from the opening minutes. In the 14th minute, the deadlock was broken after a positional attack: Bryan Cristante started the move, and Evan Ferguson finished clinically. After that, Roma largely focused on controlling the ball and territory, while Lecce’s wing attacks did not pose a significant threat.
In the second half, the hosts tried to raise the intensity, but Roma’s defense stayed composed and error-free. In the 72nd minute, after a corner, the Giallorossi scored again: Artem Dovbyk showed quick feet in the box and sent the ball into the net. That goal ended any suspense.
Roma saw out the remaining time in an organized manner without taking unnecessary risks, securing the victory. Gasperini’s side earned crucial points in the title race, while Lecce were left pointless again and extended their poor run.
