"Manchester City" midfielder Bernardo Silva announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season and sent a heartfelt message to the fans.
In his speech, he recalled the nine years spent with the "Citizens" as the most important period of his life. He stated that the club gave him achievements and memories even greater than he had dreamed of:
- "Citizens! When I arrived here nine years ago, I followed a young boy's dream of achieving success and doing great things in life. This city and this club gave me even more than that. Even more than I dared to dream," Silva wrote.
Silva listed the results achieved during this period: the 100-point season, the domestic quadruple, the Champions League triumph, and four consecutive championships are significant milestones in his career:
- "The achievements we won together are a legacy that will remain in my heart forever. The hundred-point season, the domestic quadruple, the treble, four consecutive titles, and many other trophies... Not bad," wrote Silva.
The footballer also emphasized that he started a family in Manchester and that this place has become his second home. He expressed special gratitude to the most important people in his life — his family:
- "In a few months, it will be time to say goodbye to the city where I not only achieved so many victories as a club member but also started my family life and built a home. From the bottom of my heart — Ines and Carlota, thank you!"
To the fans: your incomparable support over these years is something I will never forget. My main goal as a player was always to step onto the pitch with passion, so that you could be proud of us and feel that your interests were being worthily defended on the field. I hope you felt that in every game," Silva wrote.
Expressing gratitude to Pep Guardiola, all club staff, and his teammates, Silva said that the atmosphere at the base felt like family:
- "Thank you to the club, to Pep, to all the staff, and to my teammates who have been with me for these nine years — for all the memories and for giving me the opportunity to be part of this journey.
The atmosphere we created every day at the training ground helped me feel at home — it made me realize that I was part of one big family," wrote Silva.
He also paused specifically for the fans, noting that their support always gave him strength. According to him, defending the honor of the club on the pitch every time was his primary goal:
- "Let's enjoy these final weeks together and fight for everything the season can still give us," Silva wrote on social media.
Silva emphasized that although he is leaving the club, he will remain a lifelong supporter of Manchester City. He expressed confidence in the team, stating that many more trophies are expected in the future:
- "I came to the club as a Manchester City player, but as I leave — I will remain a Manchester City fan for life. Continue to support this young team; I believe it will provide you with many more wonderful memories in the future," Silva wrote on social media.
Now, the footballer states that he is ready to spend the final weeks of the season at full strength and fight for more victories together with the team.
