In the Women’s Candidates Tournament, the battles continue at a highly intense pace. After achieving an important victory over the well-known Ukrainian chess player Anna Muzychuk, Kazakh grandmaster Bibisara Assaubayeva shared her thoughts about the game.
She noted that this game left her with a very pleasant impression. Assaubayeva emphasized that she had an advantage in the opening phase, as well as a time advantage. However, a mistake in the middlegame complicated the situation, and the game could even have ended in a draw.
Nevertheless, she stated that she was happy to have ultimately secured the victory.
“Right now I feel very good. After two consecutive losses, I thought my chances were gone. But I won the last two games and returned to the fight,” said Assaubayeva.
According to her, in the final round she will not feel additional pressure and simply intends to enjoy her game. She will play this game with the black pieces.
“The result will show the game itself,” she said.
She also separately commented on Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov. Assaubayeva said she is sincerely happy for his victory.
“I have known Javokhir for 5 years. We grew up together, we have followed each other’s achievements. He is a very good person, kind, and a worthy winner,” she said.
According to her, there is mutual support between the two chess players, and the success of one inspires the other. Assaubayeva even expressed hope that Sindarov will become world champion.
