Robert Fico: Europe cannot bring Russia to its knees
In brief

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has criticized the European Union's strategy of attempting to weaken and "bring Russia to its knees." He argued that this approach is ineffective and fails to prioritize peace initiatives, suggesting that pressure alone will not yield real political results. Fico emphasized that such rhetoric is misguided, asserting that the current policy of supporting Ukraine to undermine Russia is a failing strategy.

According to Robert Fico, the European Union will not achieve real results with a strategy aimed at weakening Russia. He explained this position through firm statements regarding the Kremlin.

The Slovak Prime Minister believes that the European Union is not sufficiently promoting peace initiatives in its current policy. In his assessment, the main approach is built on the idea of weakening Russia through pressure.

Fico considers this strategy ineffective and wrong. He emphasized that the rhetoric of "bringing to their knees" applied to the Russian people does not yield real political results.

As an example, he cited a figurative saying about Russians, noting that their kneeling could only be related to everyday situations.

"That is exactly the problem. There is a strategy to 'bring Russia to its knees.' In my opinion, this is a bad and non-working strategy. The Russians say it very correctly: if we are on our knees, it is only because we are tying our shoelaces," says Fico.

Thus, Fico criticized European policy, stating that the strategy of keeping Russia under pressure through support for Ukraine will not work.
