Sindarov commented on talks about Bibisora

Yesterday, April 12, the 12th round games of the Candidates Chess Tournament took place in Cyprus. Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov, who is participating, drew against American Hikaru Nakamura and increased his tournament score to nine points.
After this game, the gap between Sindarov and second-placed Giri Anish is two points. It is noted that a draw in the next round could also lead the Uzbek chess player to win the tournament. Also, if Anish loses or draws in round 13, Sindarov will become the winner of the Candidates Tournament regardless of the results of the last two rounds.
After the game against Nakamura, Sindarov shared his thoughts.
“Yesterday was a very important game and I was quite tired, so today’s draw is a good result. In the current situation I saw no reason to play a long and difficult game with Hikaru. That’s why I chose forced lines where possible. If he wanted a long game, I was ready for it. But I expected him to choose solid lines as well. I even felt before the game that it would be a quick draw.
Today I will rest a bit. Maybe I will also play Counter-Strike. In the final rounds you need to play as safely as possible. If someone tries to beat me and there is an opportunity, I will definitely use it, but right now there is no need to search for a win at any cost,” said Sindarov.
He also noted that recently he does not pay attention to social media discussions about him and Kazakh chess player Bibisora Assaubayeva and that these topics are not interesting to him.
