Nakamura: Sindarov will lose to Gukesh in World title race

Javohir Sindarov has become one of the most discussed young chess players in world chess after his successful participation in the Candidates Tournament. His results have led many to view him as a main favorite in the future world championship race.
However, world's number 2 ranked player Hikaru Nakamura does not fully agree with this opinion. He is approaching the situation quite differently, highlighting pressure and psychological factors separately.
According to Nakamura, if a choice had to be made between Gukesh Dommaraju and Sindarov, he would prefer Gukesh. He emphasized that at the current stage, the pressure on the Indian chess player is much less.
The American grandmaster stated his opinion as follows:
"If I had to choose between Sindarov and Gukesh Dommaraju, I would choose Gukesh. I don't think he has much pressure right now. On the contrary, everyone expects him to lose, while Sindarov is seen as the favorite. But if Gukesh can return to his highest level, he can easily win," Nakamura said.
According to him, not only technical preparation but also mental stability plays a decisive role in chess. Especially in high-pressure matches like the World Championship, every small detail is of great importance.
Sindarov, on the other hand, is currently playing under great expectations. This means that each of his games is under special attention. Such a situation can sometimes be an advantage, but it can also bring additional pressure.
Thus, the intrigue in world chess is intensifying. It is clear that the competition between young stars and experienced grandmasters has only just begun to heat up.
