The prestigious Saudi Arabian club lost the AFC Champions League 2 final on home soil to Japan's Gamba Osaka. In the 30th minute of the match, Gamba Osaka striker Deniz Hummet scored the only goal that decided the game after an assist from Issam Jebali. Although Jorge Jesus's men dominated possession throughout the match, they struggled to break down the opponent's defense.
In the second half, Al-Nassr increased the pressure. However, 18-year-old Japanese goalkeeper Rui Araki made several saves to keep a clean sheet. Notably, Joao Felix's powerful strike hit the post, while attempts from Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane also proved fruitless.
In the 86th minute, a heroic block by Genta Miura denied Cristiano Ronaldo a goal. Ultimately, Gamba Osaka held on to their lead through disciplined defending and lifted the AFC Champions League 2 trophy.
