Alisson stays at Liverpool: Transfer fails despite Juventus interest

Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson is expected to remain in the Liverpool squad for the upcoming season. Despite serious interest from Italian club Juventus, the Merseyside club remains firm in its intention to keep its goalkeeper at Anfield. This is reported by Goal.com .

Following the conclusion of the Premier League season, various rumors regarding Alisson's future had intensified. In particular, his appearance against Brentford after recovering from an injury sparked fears among many fans that it could be his final match for the team. However, the club's management activated an extension clause in the 33-year-old goalkeeper's current contract, demonstrating his importance to the team's plans.

The Italian press, specifically La Gazzetta dello Sport, had reported that Juventus discussed personal terms with the player in May. Although the Turin side is looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper, no official agreement has been reached between the clubs.

Renowned insider Fabrizio Romano wrote on his X account that Liverpool's management contacted Alisson to confirm their intention to keep him for another year. According to Romano, although Juventus offered a long-term contract, Liverpool is not consenting to a sale.

For now, everything depends on the player's own position. Unless Alisson himself demands a departure, Liverpool will not put him on the transfer list. His successful return from injury at the end of the season proved once again how valuable he is to the team.
