Uzbek wrestlers win four medals at the Asian Championship

The U-23 Asian Wrestling Championship continues in Da Nang, Vietnam. Representatives of the Uzbekistan national team have recorded further successful results in the competition, which features the continent's strongest young wrestlers.
Over the past day, our compatriots won 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. This result once again demonstrates that our young wrestlers are competitive on the international stage and capable of handling pressure in major tournaments.
Sherzod Poyonov, competing in the -97 kg weight category, reached the final and secured the silver medal. He delivered confident performances throughout the tournament, establishing himself among the continent's top athletes in his weight class.
Bronze medals went to Shahzodbek Yarashev, Dilshoda Matnazarova, and Miyasar Kushmuratova. Shahzodbek Yarashev climbed the podium in the -70 kg category, while in women's wrestling, Dilshoda Matnazarova (-53 kg) and Miyasar Kushmuratova (-62 kg) added important medals to our team's tally.
In particular, the overall performance of our women's wrestling team deserves special recognition. Our representatives scored 134 points to finish third in the overall team standings, reflecting the high level of preparation, competitiveness, and growth among our young athletes.
