The Consular Department of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens to address visa issues in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.
According to the information, the U.S. authorities have significantly improved their visa issuance infrastructure, reducing the waiting times for interviews to 6-8 weeks in some countries. However, it has been noted that due to the upcoming championship, the demand for visas could continue to rise.
Additionally, possessing a ticket to the championship does not guarantee obtaining a U.S. visa or entry into the country. A ticket only provides an opportunity to schedule an interview more quickly.
Nonetheless, all applicants must still undergo standard checks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises citizens to purchase championship tickets only from official sources, avoid falling for illegal job offers, and remember that a tourist visa does not grant the right to work.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that adherence to U.S. immigration regulations could impact the future decisions and opportunities of Uzbek citizens. Following the rules strengthens bilateral cooperation and creates additional opportunities for travel and business.
