Javohir Sindorov was named the strongest chess player of the year in Uzbekistan

On January 10, a press conference initiated by the Uzbekistan Chess Federation took place and became one of the important events in the country’s chess life. During the event, the results of 2025 were summarized, and priority plans and goals for 2026 were announced. Most importantly, chess players and specialists who achieved the highest results throughout the year were duly awarded.

According to the Federation, the winner of the 2025 FIDE World Cup, Javokhir Sindorov, was recognized as the “Best Chess Player of the Year” in Uzbekistan. His consistent and confident performances on the international stage, as well as his successes in major tournaments, further enhanced the prestige of Uzbek chess.

Among women, Umida Omonova, a member of the Uzbekistan national team, was recognized as the best female chess player of the year. Her determined performances in competitions and high results were especially noted by experts.

Talented young chess players were also in the spotlight. In the under-12 category, Nurmuhammad Nematillakhonov and Khusnora Khusniddinova were named the best, while in the under-20 category, Afruza Hamdamova and Mukhiddin Madaminov were recognized as winners. In para chess, Marcel Shoyusupov and Selbi Kakisheva were awarded for their high achievements.

In addition, the contributions of honorary chess player Uktam Sheraliev, best referee Komiljon Azizov, analyst Ulugbek Tillaev, and commentator Anton Kim were specially recognized. At the end of the event, it was emphasized that the achievements of the winners are an important foundation for the future of Uzbek chess.
