Energy Ministry introduces temporary limits on methane filling stations

Starting January 8, Uzbekistan will introduce temporary restrictions on the operation of methane (CNG) filling stations. According to the Ministry of Energy, CNG stations will operate from 10:00 to 16:00. Podrobno.uz reports this reports .
The restrictions were explained by a drop in pressure in main gas pipelines. The ministry emphasized that, under the current conditions, the priority remains stable supply of natural gas to the population and social sector facilities.
Therefore, based on schedules agreed with local authorities, the operating hours of methane filling stations are being temporarily revised. In the Fergana Valley, station schedules will be set separately depending on actual gas pressure, in coordination with local authorities.
The Ministry of Energy stated that during periods of reduced pressure, priority will be given to uninterrupted gas supply to residential areas, public transport and socially important facilities. Ensuring stable public transport operations and meeting the population’s basic needs will remain a top priority.
The operating schedule of methane filling stations will be reviewed based on the overall gas supply situation, pressure levels and consumption volumes. These measures aim at rational use of gas resources and maintaining the stability of energy supply.
The ministry added that the restrictions are temporary and that practical work is currently underway to normalize gas pressure in the system. Recall that on December 25, due to queues at methane stations, some buses in Tashkent had to leave their routes.
