Uzbekistan to welcome 100,000 tourists from Malaysia and Indonesia in 2026–2027

Uzbekistan aims to increase the number of tourists arriving from Malaysia and Indonesia under the “Umrah Plus” program to 100,000 in 2026–2027. This was reported by kursiv.uz. reports .
Under the program, visitors will be able to travel to Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. To attract foreign tourists, events for Ramadan Hayit and Qurban Hayit are planned, along with the launch of advertising campaigns titled “In the Footsteps of Imam Bukhari” and “Spend Ramadan in Uzbekistan.”
Tour operators who bring tourists on this route will receive a subsidy of $100 per guest. During the off-season — from November 20 to February 20, as well as in July — tourists will be offered discounts on visits to historical sites, hotel stays and dining services.
To implement the plan, up to 10 aircraft are expected to be involved and new flights opened. In particular, the Kuala Lumpur – Samarkand, Kuala Lumpur – Bukhara – Jeddah, Jakarta – Samarkand – Jeddah and Jakarta – Bukhara – Jeddah routes are expected to be launched.
