New York City Mayor Eric Adams visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent as the head of a delegation. This center was established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Guests were provided with insights into the main activities of the center, its scientific and educational mission, and its rich historical legacy, including ancient manuscripts, unique artifacts, and modern interactive exhibitions. "By visiting the Center of Islamic Civilization, I gained a deeper understanding of the true essence of Islam – peace, humanism, and the rich historical legacy of a great civilization.
Everyone who visits this place has the opportunity to objectively see and rediscover the immense contributions of Islam to global civilization," said Eric Adams.
According to him, the materials presented through video content, interactive technologies, and artificial intelligence-based exhibitions leave a strong impression and make the exhibits comprehensible for visitors of all ages.
During the visit, the New York mayor familiarized himself with exhibitions dedicated to the pre-Islamic era and the First Renaissance period. He also visited the Quran hall and other sections of the center.
The First Renaissance refers to a period of flourishing science, culture, and philosophy during the 9th–12th centuries, mainly in cities such as Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm, and other parts of the region. This is a recognized scholarly term.
