
In Uzbekistan, the medical data of more than 36 million citizens has been entered into the unified electronic DMED system. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of the Digital Health Center and the Samarkand branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology, located in Samarkand.
It was reported that the introduction of electronic management in emergency medical services has reduced response times for ambulance teams. The "Electronic Prescription" system has decreased unwarranted prescriptions for medicines by 40%, making pharmaceutical operations more transparent.
Over 3,000 medical institutions have been integrated into the digital infrastructure, and thousands of computers have been procured. In addition, the Samarkand branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology has undergone complete modernization.
A total of 52 billion soum was allocated for the development of this facility. Currently, the center has a capacity of 100 beds and is equipped with 262 types of modern equipment.
Through mobile diagnostics, nearly 7,000 patients have undergone coronary angiography, and the number of cardiac surgeries annually has increased from 383 to 590. A residency program in cardiac surgery has also been established to train specialists.
