10 Uzbekistanis Die from Alcohol Poisoning in Turkey

According to the Consulate General in Istanbul, the number of Uzbekistanis who have died in Turkey after consuming alcohol has risen to 10.

On January 15, the consulate received reports of four Uzbek citizens (all men) who died due to consuming counterfeit alcohol. Earlier, on January 14, reports of six other deaths were received.

Diplomats from the consulate are in constant contact with Istanbul’s health authorities, forensic experts, and law enforcement agencies regarding the incident. The consulate is also responding to inquiries from citizens through its hotline.
