The United States has returned some of the helicopters that were taken to Uzbekistan by Afghan pilots when the Taliban came to power. This was reported by the Voice of America television channel, citing Pentagon officials who attended an event at the Uzbek embassy in Washington.

Most of the American planes and helicopters that Afghan pilots who fled the Taliban took to Uzbekistan have been returned to the republic. Seven of the technical equipment that the Pentagon found suitable - Black Hawk helicopters - have now been returned to the United States, the channel's correspondent Navbahor Imamova reported.
The event also featured the Uzbek Ambassador to the United States and Canada, Furkat Sidykov, who expressed Tashkent's readiness to enhance cooperation with Washington in all areas. In addition, it was noted that the Uzbek government values cooperation between the security systems and armed forces of the two countries.

For information, in August 2021, 22 Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano and Pilatus PC-12 military aircraft and 24 UH-60 Black Hawk, MD-530 and Mi-17 helicopters were transported to Uzbekistan by the Afghan military.
