Legendary Australian footballer Tim Cahill shared his opinion about the Uzbekistan national team, praising their playing style and the football system in the country. According to him, Uzbek football has entered a phase of serious growth and reform in recent years.
Tim Cahill is a renowned footballer who played for the Australian national team for 14 years and participated in several World Cups. He noted that investments in youth football are clearly increasing in Uzbekistan. Now, having a football academy is a mandatory requirement to operate as a professional club.
“This is a commendable approach. It allows Uzbekistan to build football on a more stable and strong foundation. This is a correct strategy not only for now but also for the future,” said Cahill.
He also paid special attention to the team's on-field behavior. According to him, the Uzbekistan team is united, quickly adaptable, and gives maximum effort in every episode.
“If they score first, it becomes very difficult to come back into the game. They fight until the very end. They don’t lose focus, they are disciplined, mobile, and very well organized,” he stated.
Notably, Tim Cahill was one of the main players of the Australian national team from 2004 to 2018. During these years, he played several matches against Uzbekistan and personally experienced the strength of this opponent.
According to him, playing against such a competitive and developing team always requires great responsibility.
Such recognition once again shows that Uzbek football deserves attention on the international stage. The main task now is to continue reforms in this direction and lead the national team to great success in international tournaments. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
