The analysis reveals the dangers that may arise from global climate change and the erosion of ice sheets.

Professor Dorte Dahl-Jensen of the University of Copenhagen noted that such a rapid rise in sea levels could occur not gradually, but in leaps and bounds. According to him, as a result of an increase in temperature by 2-3 degrees, some parts of the world's ice sheets will inevitably erode. This indicates that by 2100 the increase could be several times higher than the 1 meter increase predicted by the IPCC.

A serious threat to Denmark

This situation poses a particular threat to low-lying areas like Denmark. Many coastal areas of the country could be submerged, putting settlements and infrastructure at serious risk.

The study, supported by Dal-Jensen and 28 ocean scientists, once again confirms the need to adequately prepare for the problems associated with climate change. Scientists are calling on politicians and the public to take this issue seriously.
