Uzbekistan imposed 7.9 billion soums in fines for illegal waste dumping in the first half of 2025, Kursiv.uz reported citing the Ministry of Ecology.

According to the ministry, around 15,000 cases of unauthorized waste disposal were detected across the country between January and June.

“A total of 14,700 administrative protocols were issued. The total amount of fines reached 7.9 billion soums, of which 3.3 billion soums have already been collected,” the statement said.

The highest number of violations occurred in Namangan (1,500 cases), Andijan (1,400), and Fergana (1,100) regions.

More than 5,200 illegal waste incidents were identified through online video surveillance. The monitoring system covers vulnerable areas such as town outskirts, illegal dumpsites, coastal zones, and public spaces.

The Ministry of Ecology urged citizens to comply with environmental laws and treat nature with care.
