The most popular car in Uzbekistan has been revealed
Uzbekistan’s automotive industry showed steady growth in the first five months of 2025, reports UPL.uz citing the National Statistics Committee. From January to May, 153,800 passenger cars were produced, a 5% increase over 2024.

Chevrolet Cobalt remained the top model, accounting for one-third of all cars — 58,900 units (+2.4%). Damas followed with 38,700 units (+24.1%).

Declining models:
• Tracker — down 6.2%, 18,070 units
• Chery — down 15.9%, 3362 units

Meanwhile, Onix grew by 8.8% to 16,250 units.

Non-UzAuto brands showed strong growth:
• Kia — up 35.6%, over 10,000 units
• Haval — up 12.7×, to 2930 units
• BYD (Jizzakh plant) — 5495 EVs

Sales report:
• Total sold: 135,900+ units
• UzAuto Motors — 55.9% share
• Khorezm Auto — 26.3%
• ADM Jizzakh — 11.4%
• BYD Uzbekistan — 5.8%

Top-selling brands:
• Chevrolet — 111,800+ units
• Kia — 9224
• BYD — 7859
• Chery — 3474
• Haval — 2822

Top 5 models:
• Cobalt
• Damas
• Tracker
• Labo
• Onix

These five make up 81.5% of the market. Kia Sonet, three BYD models, and the Haval M6 also made the top 10, signaling broader consumer preferences.

Uzbekistan has the oldest and largest car industry in Central Asia. The first car rolled off the Asaka plant in 1996.
