
A wind power plant is planned to be built in Burchmulla, Tashkent region, the regional administration's press service reported, according to Kursiv media.
The plant will generate 129.6 million kWh of electricity annually. A 10-hectare area has been allocated for construction.
The planned capacity of the station is 20 megawatts. The total project cost is estimated at $28 million (approximately 354 billion UZS).
Regional authorities emphasized that the launch of the wind station will allow for annual savings of 811,000 cubic meters of gas or 3,100 tons of coal.
For context, Uzbekistan has joined a project to export green energy to Europe. The initiative also includes energy companies from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The electricity is expected to be delivered via a cable laid under the Black Sea. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
