‘Golden Humo–2025’: Achievements of National Cinema Recognized

On December 17, 2025, an important event in the world of national cinema took place at the National Palace of Cinematic Art in Tashkent — the ceremony for the presentation of the national film award “Golden Humo – 2025.” This traditional event brought together representatives of the film industry, renowned artists, directors, actors, and creative teams.

During the ceremony, a total of 62 cinematic works were presented to audiences and specialists. These included 25 feature films, 21 documentaries, and 16 animation projects. These numbers clearly demonstrate the consistent development of various genres and directions in Uzbek cinema.

At the awards ceremony, the most notable creative works of the year were recognized in specific nominations. For instance, the documentary “The Curse of White Gold” was named Best Documentary Film, while the animation “Clever Girl” won in the animation category.

Technical and creative achievements were also highlighted: Ulugbek Abdusoatov was recognized as Best Sound Director for his work in the film “After Spring,” and Azim Botirov received an award for editing in the film “Restless Wind.” The film “Region” was commended for its graphic solutions, while “Cotton” stood out for its artistry and cinematography.

Outstanding acting performances were also honored. Yulduz Rajabova won Best Actress for her role in the film “Shamskamar,” and Ulugbek Muhammadkarimov was awarded Best Actor for his performance in the movie “Lame.”

The evening’s most prestigious award — Best Film — was presented to the creative team behind the movie “Makhtumquli Firogi.” The film's producer, Muzaffarkhon Erkinov, attributed this success to the collective efforts of the entire team.

The “Golden Humo – 2025” ceremony once again highlighted the presence of innovative ideas, strong concepts, and exceptional creative potential in national cinema. These acknowledgments serve as an indicator of the lofty ambitions Uzbek cinema aims to achieve in the coming years.
