Problematic loans in banks increase by 5.1%


As of November 1, the total volume of non-performing loans (NPLs) in banks reached 22.4 trillion soums. According to data from the Central Bank, this figure increased by 5.1% in one month.

The total loan portfolio of banks amounted to 592.9 trillion soums, which represents an increase of 10.6 trillion soums compared to October.

The majority of non-performing loans are held by state-owned banks, with their total volume exceeding 15.8 trillion soums. Non-performing loans at the National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU) rose by 4.2%, reaching 4.4 trillion soums.

"Agrobank" accounted for 2.9 trillion soums, "Uzpromstroybank" (O‘zsanoatqurilishbank) recorded 2.2 trillion soums, "Asaka Bank" reported 1.9 trillion soums, and "People's Bank" (Xalq Banki) had 1.1 trillion soums in non-performing loans. Meanwhile, private banks' loan portfolios grew by 3.7 trillion soums to reach 191 trillion soums.

The volume of non-performing loans in private banks decreased to 6.5 trillion soums. Among private banks, the highest volume of non-performing loans was reported by "Mortgage Bank" (Ipoteka-bank), totaling 2.2 trillion soums.

Following this, "Capital Bank" (Poytaxt Bank) recorded 58 billion soums, "Garant Bank" reported 126 billion soums, and "AVO Bank" registered 66 billion soums.
