
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a $50 million loan to "Ipak Yo‘li Bank" to support the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Uzbekistan. This information was announced by the bank's press service.
Of the allocated funds, $15 million will be directed towards promoting a "green economy" in the country — focusing on modernization of production and increasing energy efficiency of enterprises. The initial funding will be provided under the framework of the HIPCA program.
Donor countries in this program include the United States, South Korea, Austria, and Germany. The remaining $35 million will be allocated for the development of small and medium enterprises.
According to the EBRD, the funds will be provided to "Ipak Yo‘li Bank" in som. The EBRD emphasized that this loan aims to strengthen Uzbekistan's economy and create new job opportunities for the population.
As of early December 2025, the EBRD has directed more than $6.5 billion to support 193 projects in Uzbekistan.
