Small Businesses Contributing to the Economy Through Tax Revenues

Small businesses contribute to the economy with tax revenues

As of early November 2025, more than 63,200 small enterprises operating in Uzbekistan paid a total of 12.7 trillion soums in taxes to the state budget. This was reported by the State Tax Committee. The figures indicate that the role of small businesses in the national economy is steadily strengthening.

According to the data, tax revenues have increased by 9.5 percent compared to the previous year. This demonstrates the growing financial activity of small business entities. Additionally, the total turnover of small businesses has reached approximately 199.3 trillion soums.

Some enterprises have made particularly significant contributions. Across the country, the 20 most active small companies paid a total of 418.6 billion soums in taxes. Leading the group is Techenergy, which paid 60.6 billion soums in taxes. Furthermore, ACWA Power Dzhankeldy Wind and ACWA Power Bash Wind recorded substantial contributions of 49.9 billion soums and 49 billion soums, respectively.

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of early November of this year, there are more than 395,700 active small business entities in the country. Although this is a slight decrease compared to the previous year, the sector's economic impact remains significant.

Experts emphasize that support from international financial institutions also positively influences small business development. In particular, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to allocate $70 million, while the World Bank has earmarked $105 million. These funds are expected to aid the further development of entrepreneurship and open new opportunities in the economy.
