Kazakh Oil to Boost Fergana Oil Refinery Capacity

Kazakh oil set to boost capacity of Fergana Refinery

By the end of December, 35,000 tons of crude oil from Kazakhstan are planned to be delivered to the Fergana Oil Refinery. All processed products derived from this volume will be directed to meet the needs of Uzbekistan's domestic market.

Experts emphasize that these deliveries will enable a more efficient and fuller utilization of the refinery's capacity. Overall, there is potential to import up to 500,000 tons of oil from Kazakhstan annually. This will significantly increase the production volumes of aviation kerosene, various oils, and other petroleum products.

It has been reported that the “KazTransOil” company resumed the transit of oil into Uzbekistan’s territory a few days ago. Specifically, in December, 35,000 tons of oil are set to be delivered to the Fergana Refinery. In addition, an extra 30,000 tons of oil are planned to be sent to Kyrgyzstan.

Notably, this shipment marks the first delivery of oil to Kyrgyzstan since 2017. This indicates a renewed dynamism in regional energy cooperation.

In summary, the reintroduction of Kazakh oil into the regional market is expected not only to reinvigorate the operations of the Fergana Oil Refinery but also to elevate energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and its neighboring countries to a new level.
