Mirziyoyev sharply criticized the work of district police officers at a meeting in Tashkent

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting on combating crime in Tashkent on January 27, strongly criticized the work of prevention inspectors. The topic revolved especially around "work on the ground" - the real situation at the neighborhood level and systematic work with "district officers."
At the meeting, the head of state asked several sharp questions to Otabek Jamolov, the former head of the Shaykhantakhur District Department of Internal Affairs, who was subsequently dismissed from his post. The segment was also shown on the "Menimcha" program of the "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel.
The President's main objection is one: management should not limit itself to simply "gathering" prevention inspectors, but should manage their work based on real results. At this point, Mirziyoyev directly asked: how many times a week do you gather precinct inspectors, study the situation by regions and factors, assign tasks by crime, and then demand results?
Otabek Jamolov commented on the meetings held on Mondays, the practice of issuing reprimands, visiting the mahallas with the prosecutor and the khokim, and familiarizing himself with the activities of the "mahalla seven." But it was here that the president expressed doubts about whether these listed measures are actually effective.
In the spirit of "Do you believe what you said?" Mirziyoyev also strongly accepted the mention of the "seven." In his opinion, if the main attention is not paid to the district police officer himself, his daily work style, and finding solutions to problems in the mahalla on the spot, the rest will turn into formality.
During this conversation, the president said that the leadership "has stopped going down," does not see the real situation, and a chain "deceiving" each other is emerging in the system: the deputy leader deceives the deputy, the "district officer" deceives the deputy, and as a result, "everything is fine" on paper, but in practice, the problem remains.
Mirziyoyev openly stated: he does not need grandiose statements, demonstrative reports. According to his demand, if the system doesn't change, the situation won't change either. These words are important not only for internal order, but also for the economy, the president said.
The Head of State noted that without a radical change in the approach to the activities of prevention inspectors, it is difficult to strengthen stability in the economy and attract large investors. In his words, if there is no security in the mahalla, there will be no trust; if there is no trust, the investor will not come; if the investor does not come, it will be difficult to increase income and salaries.
The President emphasized the inadmissibility of crime in the mahalla: he set the idea that "even one crime is a crime" as a strict rule. Because the stability of people's economy, their satisfaction with life, the development of entrepreneurship - all this depends on the security environment.
It was reported that after the critical meeting on January 27, appointments and dismissals were made in the law enforcement system. In particular, Otabek Jamolov was also dismissed from his post.
The conclusion is this: this criticism is not just a simple "stomach," but a signal. Now the system is asking for results visible in the mahalla, not on paper. If this requirement works in practice, the first to win will be ordinary people who want a peaceful life.
