In Tashkent, a man dissatisfied with a court ruling climbed a tree

Today, April 1, reports spread on social media that a man dissatisfied with court rulings climbed a tree in front of the Supreme Court building. In this regard, the Supreme Court issued an official statement.
It is reported that on March 30 of this year, citizen A. Ch. (born in 1979 in Tashkent region) climbed a tree near the Supreme Court building and expressed his dissatisfaction with the court decisions issued in his criminal case.
The citizen was brought down, his physical condition checked, and no injuries were found. Subsequently, A.Ch. was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Court Bakhtiyor Islomov, and his complaint was officially registered for review.
For information, according to the ruling of the Chilonzor District Court on criminal cases dated October 5, 2020, A.Ch. was acquitted under part 3 of Article 184 of the Criminal Code (evasion of taxes or fees) and paragraph 2 of Article 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (grounds for rehabilitation), and a 7-year imprisonment was assigned under part 3 “a” of Article 167 of the Criminal Code (misappropriation or embezzlement).
The first-instance court verdict was reviewed in higher courts and remained unchanged. Also, on November 29, 2025, by decision of the Chairman of the Supreme Court, A.Ch. was informed that there were no grounds to change the court decisions.
The Supreme Court statement emphasized that citizens’ right to judicial protection is guaranteed by law. They can freely and without obstacles appeal to the Supreme Court in the prescribed manner. Therefore, there is no benefit in using unusual or dangerous actions to appeal.
In fact, climbing a tree or similar actions are not required to appeal to the Supreme Court. All matters should be resolved through official procedures provided by law.
The court recommends that citizens improve legal culture, properly use lawful appeal mechanisms, and protect their rights through legal methods.
