Foreign brand share in the Chinese TV market is falling sharply

According to a report released by Luotu Technology for April 2026, TV sales in China have continued to decline for 13 consecutive months. The volume of products supplied by local manufacturers reached 2.22 million units, a 6.1% decrease compared to the same period last year. Although online sales saw a 20.9% drop, buyers are showing more interest in premium and high-quality models. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

The Chinese market is primarily controlled by eight major brands: Hisense, TCL, Skyworth, Xiaomi, Changhong, Haier, Konka, and Huawei. Their combined share exceeds 95.3%. Hisense, TCL, and Skyworth lead the market, accounting for more than 60% of the total share. Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi hold fourth place, while Huawei's performance has dropped by more than 30% for two consecutive months.

The situation is becoming even more complex for foreign brands. The combined market share of Samsung, Sony, Sharp, and Philips has fallen to less than 3%. Their sales volume has dropped by 20% compared to last year. Samsung's exit from the Chinese market and the partnership between Sony and TCL indicate that international brands are losing their foothold in this region.
